Coming later 2021, Samsung will officially become a competitor of Dexcom. Rumors have it that the new Samsung Smartwatch 4 will use raman spectroscopy to analyze blood glucose levels without the need to draw blood. This is done by delivering excitation light and recapturing the distributed luminscence through optical fibers where its spectra is then analyzed and glucose levels reported by way of the watches UI.
